From the LJagz Studio of Agnieszka Lokaj, an Artist, based in London, England

Agnieszka started her creative journey in the digital world working as a website designer. Her foray into the painting world came during an emotionally challenging period of her life and subsequent self re-discovery. She believes the creative process has power to heal and transform and she explores the spiritual dimensions of human existence in her paintings.

Agnieszka aims to investigate the interplay between abstraction and representation to investigate how we form perception. She is constantly exploring new techniques and styles, always looking for new ways to express herself. Her work is an exploration of a shadow self, a visual representation of the hidden parts of our psyches.

Through her paintings, she aims to bring the shadow self into the light, to confront and embrace these hidden aspects of ourselves. Her style is characterised by bold, dramatic strokes and deep, moody colours, evoking the complex and often tumultuous nature of the shadow self.
